Mommy is fat and squishy! Bullied by my own kids

Yesterday was one of those crazy days with 3 toddlers!   They were into everything, making huge messes and potty training the princess is beyond exhausting! I cleaned up more pee spots and trails yesterday than anyone should ever have to do in a whole life time!

I have been having horrible headaches for 5 weeks, had an MRI it was all clear and the diagnosis is 'tension headaches' ugh! Nothing really helps and kids fighting, screaming and being toddlers doesnt help at all! hahaha

My kids found a new game yesterday.. called lets play with mommys squishy fat! GRRRRRR
(first you gotta hit play on this video and listen while you read on...its funny, stupid and it totally goes along with my kids game...

Yesterday I was sitting on the recliner and Benjamin was sitting on the arm talking to me.  He kinda fell into my belly and said Oh Squishy!  Then he laughed and started pushing on my fat over and over saying squishy squishy squishy! I said Benjamin dont play with mommies fat! By that time Cloee had joined in.. both sitting on each side of me pushing on my fat saying squishy squishy fat!  Laughing away and having the time of their lives!
I am total in pms mode and what did i do? I cried and sent them to play in the other room!  Later I had another cry fest, so  my sweet husband graciously sent me to the grocery store alone however Im pretty sure i cried through most of the store and people were looking at me like what the heck..

I am so frustrated!  I know my kids weren't being mean but ouch!
Tomorrow is weigh in day for Getting Fit Friday and oh im sure it isnt gonna be good and im pretty sure i was just a big ole epic fail on all of my goals!

I am a total food addict and need a serious butt kicking or something! Ugh!
I had a mini emo binge after the grocery store and Im seriously thinking professional help is needed lol!
Anyways for today my plan is to stick to being under my calories, make my hubs work out with me this eve and to get my house mess under control!  Right now I want to curl up and sleep my headache away but Aint Nobody Got Time for that! hahah
Seriously if you havnt heard of Sweet Brown you have got to watch this!  This lady was actualy from my state! and i love this remix! Its cute and funny!!!

Lets talk about .... baby!

Yeah so I totally had that song in my head buy what I really wanted to say was....

If this video doesnt start you gotta hit play for your  listening pleasure while you read hahaha

I wanna talk about hair!
There are good hair days and bad ones.. mostly bad ones! this pic with the bird on my head proves what my hair normally looks like! The others are just lucky shots!
This is the current hair... and i have a story to tell!....

Naturally a dark blonde but I change it often.. I am not usually one to write bad reviews and i debated on writing the bad review or not but since they never had the courtesy to even attempt to make it right im gonna tell you the story!

I love my current hair lady! Shes great! But in November at the OK blogger meet up I won a $50 GC to Schardein and Co in OKC
I knew I didn't need a cut but I did  need a color before my best friends wedding... Normally I spend around $80-90 for a cut and color (not including tip)  I knew this particular place was a little pricier than normal so i figured my $50 wouldn't cover my whole hair color but should be fairly close!

I go in and the girl is so super nice! the place is super nice!  She asks how i heard about her and I told her i won a gift certificate at the blogger event! She was excited and we started talking about blogging!  I loved her! I thought, man i am so coming back! The experience was fun and nice!  I told her I only wanted a color i didnt need anything else.  I had just had a treatment and a cut a week ago... well she did the color and when she was washing my hair out she said she was doing a glaze and some other treatments no explanation really i just figured it was part of the deal...
Anyways she finished the color, it was fantastic, she dried and styled and took me to the counter.  She told the lady I was a VIP? and made out the ticket.  When i pulled out my gift card (which i told her i had) she said OH NO i thought you won the VIP treatment.. NEVER did i say that and they gave away 1 vip treatment and 5 gcs at the event...
So then she said let me tell you how our pricing works...
Since this is your first color here instead of being the normal $60 it is $90 bc we do more.. first of all the only thing i had done was an ALLLLL OVER COLOR with 5 lil foils in the front and i have had my hair colored many of times before... also since she 'thought' i was a VIP she gave me a whole array of color treatments that i didnt ask for or need!  Long story short my entire price was almost $150! WTH!  I was in shock and almost in tears!  It was the week before Christmas and i didnt have an extra $100 to spend on my freaking hair!
I paid it and i left crying... after i gained my composure i called them.. explained that I shouldnt have been charged for the vip bc i didnt ask for the vip nor did i ever say i had a vip card i just said i wanted a plain color...
they said their manager would call me back... 3 days passed and she didnt... i called again.. then another 2 days and she called me while i was at work on the phone.. i called her back with in 3 minutes, they put me on hold for 10 mins then told me she was gone for the day..
I have tried to call her several other times and no one ever called me back.. I finally gave up...
OH AND ALL OF MY COLOR FADED OUT WITHIN A WEEK!
the color i have now is box color from walmart that cost me 6.98 and has lasted over 4!
So my review for http://www.schardeinandco.com/ is you may be a upscale and cool but your customer service sucks!  You are a rip off and I had hoped to give you a great review!
The stylist was sweet and did a good job, however she should never have given me those treatments i should have contested and not paid but i just got screwed!

Anyways these are older pics of me from last year and i want my long hair back lol!    and a silly lil video for your enjoyment hahah!

Getting Fit Friday Link Up

Getting Fit Friday

Hi Lovely Friends!  I am so excited for this week’s Getting Fit Friday because I have made some AMAZING connections this week!!!
If you havent joined in yet, this link up is all about support and encouragement!  Brittany from the Domestic Geek and I started this in effort to get things going right for this new year!

The plan is that each week we’ll check in with you on how we’re doing with weight loss, exercise, and healthy eating habits. We’ll also set goals, both long and short term. We do this because it’s so easy to be discouraged if you’re far away from the long-term goals, but setting little goals each week and being able to accomplish them feels great and helps you reach your long-term goal. You can share as much or as little as you like, I know not everyone wants to post their weight online.

BTW I did get gutsy and I actually posted my weight in my post called
My Losing Battle
I really hesitated on doing so but I realized I am doing horrible, I need a wake up call and its time to get honest and get going!

We'd love for you to link up your health and fitness posts! Recipes, plans, goals, successes, challenges... etc!  This isnt a linky about gaining followers but its about gaining friends, gaining support and doing it together!  You never know how much your story can help someone else!

The rules are simple :)
1. Follow BOTH TheDomestic Geek and Monkeys and Tutus blogs.
2. Grab a button from my sidebar on the left, and/or link to one of the hosts within your post.
3. Link up your getting healthy posts!
4. Stop on over to other bloggers and give some kind words of encouragement! A little goes a long way!

I also have to tell you that I am a part of this amazing group of UNBELIEBABLE SUPPORTIVE WOMEN started by Raising Regan & Geek Can Be Chic  I totally suggest you check it out and be a part!

Friendships

I love my friends but some days I just wish I had a friend on a different level... This isn't meant to be whiney.... But I kinda feel whiney and blah right now hahaha! But this has been on my heart for a long time!!!

I have a lot of great people in my life who I know are there no matter what. Distance, time, busyness of life... None of that matters I know they are only a call or a text or a fb message away. I have those amazing rocks i know will do anything to help, pray or whatever they can and I have a great blogging community of friends that support and encourage me in ways i cant imagine and I cherish them dearly but sometimes I just wish I had actual friends who were in the same stage of life as me, ones we could go on play dates with, go out for coffee with or even just one to kick my butt in the right way. A girl pal to sit back and sip coffee while our kids run a muck....

Today at the play place I looked around at the 3 diff groups of moms with their friends and how they were all just chatting about life while their kids played... It made me a lil jealous and a little sad... I begged my mom and dad to go with me so I could at least have some adult companionship while we were there! Haha
I can't tell you how many times I've called and wanted my mom or dad to come 'play with the kids' simply bc I'm lonely! Lol you'd think my poor hubs worked a million hours a day but he doesn't and when he comes home life is good I just want some people in our lives that we can just do life with!

My kids don't have friends other than my parents lol... I want them to have other kids we see often and play with just like I long to have those women around me who can share advice, fun etc... Someone for my hubs to go to a game with or have couple dates...

This is worse than dating lol! It's like wanting a to have a boyfriend haha but it's just companionship....
I get tired of doing the same things day in and day out.... I want to go out and go places during the day with the kids but 3 under 3 alone isn't always fun... And part of me thinks people don't want to hang out with the crazy lady who has 3 toddlers! Lol

That's my sad heart felt sob story for the day.... Lol I'm done now! Ha

Goals for the week

My losing battle and how much I actually weigh eeks

Just in case you dont know my background... In 2008 I got serious and lost 70+ lbs! By November 08 I was down to 175 when Ben and I started dating. I felt great I was wearing size 10 and felt healthy, full of energy, confident and sexy! By April 1st 09 I was about 2 mo or so pregnant and was up to 205 then then my hubs left for basic and ait would be gone for 9 months leaving me alone, pregnant, scared, depressed and on a bad routine of eating fast food every single day! Always lunch, some times breakfast and lunch! By the time I had Benjamin (who only weighed 5.5 lbs I had gained a huge 65 lbs! By march 2010 I was down to 240 and I found out I was pregnant with cloee! Luckily I only gained 30 and lost it soon after and in march 2011 I was back town to 240 then I found out I was pregnant with jax and the cycle started over!

In December 2011 I got 'serious' and lost about 40 lbs by march 2012! I felt good and on a good system down to 215 and ready to keep trucking and get back down to 160 which was my ultimate goal!

At the end of march 2012 my hubs returned from a 13 month long deployment and the cooking, deserts, eating out started... The working out stopped and now the past few months have been awful! I gained 15 lbs back !

Ugh! So here I sit, January of 2013 back to 70 lbs from my ultimate goal...
Is 70 lbs doable? Yes I've done it before but at this point weakness always wins out!

We started the Daniel fast and made it an actual week and at the end of the week I had a work party that involved Mexican food. Before the fast we decided we would break fast that day and go right back on..: however going back on was not as easy as I had planned! Ugh the past 2 weeks have been awful!

When I eat right and am disciplined I feel great, I have energy and I feel accomplished... When I have an epic fail gorge day I feel depressed, fat, unworthy and nasty!

I started the 21 day made to crave devotional and it's amazing but I soon was overcome with the guilt of Taco Bell, McDonald's, ice cream and diet dr pepper that I fell behind!

Why is this battle so hard? It's an addiction! And it's much like any addiction I suppose! This past week my dad was in the hospital dealing with alcoholic related problems... The choice seems so simple... Quit drinking and live or keep drinking and die of heart or liver failure... But addiction is so much stronger and bigger than the answer that's right in front of you!
Pleasure for the moment is innate in our weak fleshly world.
When I'm stressed I often turn to a snack or a soda or some Starbucks instead of turning to prayer and meditating on Gods word.
It's a vicious cycle and I want out!

When I eat healthy I'm productive and have energy! I'm in a good mood and life is good... When I fail I feel miserable so why is it so easy to fail over and over a d over?

For years I have kept my weight from my husband! Lord knows I do not want him to know how much I weigh but then I think, I know he's gained weight too and maybe if he knew how much I weighed he would understand we need to be serious and quit going on ice cream runs, chip runs etc! He's a sweet husband and when I say mmm I want some French fries he jumps up and gets me some but that's just no help at all!
We tried working out together but with 3 kids under 3 it really isn't very easy to work out at all unless you want to do it in the middle of the night and dude I need sleep! Lol

Anyways the truth of it is here I sit back at 231 lbs! What the crap!!! Ugh
It's not totally about weight, though this weight is awful and no where near where I should be or want to be its about health! I'm unhealthy in person and in spirit! Once again my want for food wins out over my need for God! I lack discipline and seem to have the inability at this point to finish what I start!
I have no accountability and I simply can't do it on my own!

I meal plan and never stick to it! I look at my tummy as it rests happily on my lap and I want to barf! Nothing fits, everything's tight and though I know my husband loves me no matter what I hate knowing what I can be and presenting him with the worst of me!

I don't even know where to begin! The problem is I always start big and end up failing instead of easing into things!

When I lost 70 lbs before I ate very healthy... I didn't eat sugars, pastas, breads, dairy etc
I pretty much had meat, veggies and fruit! I want to be back to that because I felt great! I had energy and I felt healthy!

Today I started back on my fitness pal!
Bensgirl322 is me if you want to follow and kick my butt a little!

There's my honest what's what!

The facts of me

I ran across this fun hop today and thought it would be fun to join in and share some facts about me!

I am obsessed with changing my hair! I always have these grand ideas and then I usually hate it and change it too often! I just need a makeover!  Right now it's oh too short, I died it black and yesterday got chop happy and whacked the crap out of my bangs!!! I don't think I will ever learn!

I'm obsessed with days of our lives and plan my kids naps around it! Heaven knows I'd never want them to see that smut, but I truly can't get enough! I look at the spoilers all the time even follow most of the cast on twitter! I'm pathetic!  If I could take my dream trip it would involve meeting them somehow haha

I got a part time job that I simply use as an excuse to get out of the house with out 3 toddlers in tow!

I have a deep desire to stop being a fatty but my obsessive over eating always wins out in the end! I am weak! Ugh

No matter how much I clean our house is always a crazy mess! 3 under 3 takes a serious toll on our lil house!

I want to live in Africa some day

I'm a sucker for boy bands! BSB all the way! Jobros too!

My Netflix que consists of queer eye for the straight guy, cake boss, say yes to the dress, wizards of waverly place and of course Star Trek next generation! My hubs and I watch 1 episode of Star Trek every night!

Fit Friday Link Up

Its Friday and its time for the second week of our brand new link up!

Getting Fit Friday

Brittany from The Domestic Geek and I have teamed up to start this fun new link up in hopes to get some girls on board to getting healthy with us this year!  For me support is huge and knowing there are others dealing with the same things as me is so inspiring!

Each week we’ll check in with you on how we’re doing with weight loss, exercise, and healthy eating habits. We’ll also set goals, both long and short term. We do this because it’s so easy to be discouraged if you’re far away from the long-term goals, but setting little goals each week and being able to accomplish them feels great and helps you reach your long-term goal.

We would love if you linked up so we could all support each other in a journey to get healthy, whether you need to lose weight, maintain weight, or just have a healthier lifestyle.

Here are the link up rules:

I need more than chocolate

Dang you chocolate!  As I sit at my desk at work I am staring at a LARGE bowl of Hersey's kisses!  But I am made for more than Chocolate! Right?!!!
Today at home there were lots of temptations! Graham crackers even just the turkey was mouthwatering but every time I was tempted I reminded myself that I really do love God more than food and I said a simple but serious prayer: God you mean more to me than food, I love you more than food! Give me strength to kick temptation and keep on track!
Today’s Made To Crave Devotional was simply amazing! I can’t tell you how much this thing speaks right to the core of me, it’s like this devotional was written exactly for me and I am so thankful

This stuck out the most to me today.. “It is so tempting to quit the health struggle entirely and pretend it doesn’t really matter spiritually. But it does matter and not just for the physical or emotional setbacks. It’s the denial of a fundamental spiritual truth. What is this truth?”

I was made for more!
Wow I was made for more than chocolate? What? More than chips? Ha!
The devotional said it the best… Today, your heavenly Father is telling you the same truth: “You were made for more!” More than this failure . . . more than this cycle of defeat . . . more than being ruled by taste buds, body image, rationalizations, guilt, and shame. You were made for victory!

Ephesians 1:18 – 19 says: “I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which [God] has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.”

If you have any kind of struggle with weight, eating right or whatever on any level I challenge you to start this 21 day devotional… It will rock your world!  And really it can be applied to any area of our lives that we need to refocus.

Since tomorrow is Fit Friday I wanted to direct this post to our link up and say a few things about my goals…
As I said on my post “I love food more than God” I am not weighing at all through this 21 days!  Not because I don’t want to lose weight because God knows I do! But that’s not my focus during this time.  My focus is to get in control and to strengthen myself spiritually and learn to put God first again.  Building my relationship with Jesus it what its all about!

Long term I want to get down to 150-160 lbs! That was my goal at the beginning of last year! I lost 40 lbs and did great until the last 3 months of the year where I was on a vicious yoyo roller coaster of losing and gaining the same 20 pounds over and over again!

Short term: from this week till next, is just to stay the course, continue the Daniel Fast and stick to it.  To keep putting Jesus first and my taste buds, my selfish fleshly desires and what my body thinks I want on the back burner!

I hope you join me tomorrow for Fit Friday! Link up and share your stories, your challenges, your struggles, your successes, your goals etc!  Cant wait to see what this year holds and I love the life I am living today, knowing that I am going to have a great story to tell tomorrow!

Day 1 done!

Well today I started the Daniel fast... It wasn't to bad but my day did end with a horrible headache! Dang caffeine withdrawals already setting in!

For breakfast a yummy smoothie! 1 banana, some frozen strawberries and blueberries and 1/3 cup of coconut milk! It was really good!

Around 10 i started getting restless so I went out for a big ole sonic ice water! I got in the car and there was part of a left over bag of Doritos.... Mmmm I love chips! But I threw them aside and kept focused. I started a yummy veggie stew that brewed all afternoon! Tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, diced potatoes, okra, kidney beans, cauliflower, green beans... It was yummy!
Throughout the day when hungry I had a snack of some grapes, some strawberries and even a few pecans! Overall it was a great day. When making the kids dinner I just wanted to lick the bowl but I kept the goal in sight... I prayed through and am ready to face tomorrow!

Today's made to crave devotion was great and I found out there is a book! I so need to get it! But for now I'm extremely excited about the youversion.com devotional plan! It really is eye opening and helping to change my life.

More important than being overweight physically is the face that I'm spiritually underweight and I'm excited to be changing both those through this process!

I love food more than God

'Chocolate was my comfort, cookies were my reward and salty chips were my joy' These words I read in my devotional today and they shook the core of me! Reading what she wrote about food was like I was reading my own words! I wish I could just copy it word for word for you here but it's the 21 day made to crave devotional on you version! It's not long and if you are anything like me it will speak right to the core of you!  I've been reading the Made to Crave: 21 Day Challenge Reading Plan at YouVersion.com. You might enjoy it, or one of the many other plans that are available. Check it out.

This past year has been a yoyo struggle for me! I know with everything what I need to do, what I want, but my struggle and my love for crappy food always wins out! I can't tell you how many times I found myself sitting on the couch stressed to the max with a spoon and a tub of icing in my hand bc that's the only thing in the house that was bad! I tried not to buy things I know just make it worse but somewhere there was always something for me to gorge on! I can honestly say in the stress of the last month I've prob gain at least 10 lbs if not 15! I'm afraid to weigh I don't want to know what it says!

Somehow I find myself at the bottom of a bag of chips full of regret and instead of picking myself up and starting over I cover the guilt with more bad food....

In the devotion she said 'I had to get to the point where I realized I relied on food more than I relied on God' then she asked a bold question... 'Is it possible you love and rely on food more than you love and rely on god'
And my honest answer is sadly yes! Sadly and without doubt. How sickening and shockingly true! When I'm stressed, tired, worried, sad, mad, happy, joyful, angry, aggravated, bored.... I rely on the comfort of chips, dr. Pepper, ice cream etc!
I've known it in the back of my head for sometime but to put words to it makes it real!
That statement was sadly true in every since! Of course I love God but like anything when we put it before him we are making it out idol! I have done that for far to long!

At the beginning of every year our church does the 21 day Daniel fast and I knew I wanted to... But at first it was mostly for physical reasons... To lose a few pounds... But while reading about it I knew that the only way to make it though this would be to make it spiritual the way it's intended.... My end goal has always been to lose weight, inches Etc but this time it's different it's about regaining discipline, spiritual discipline and retraining myself to trust in, rely upon and love Jesus on a whole new level.

This past weekend at church we stated a new series called my story and an amazing statement he said was the life we live today is the story we tell tomorrow. He said what's the one thing you can start today to start living the story you want to tell... Not 3 things not 5 or 8 but what's the one thing... And my one thing is simple ... I'm starting the Daniel fast!
In that encompasses a vast array of things but most importantly denying my flesh and trusting in Jesus.
This is only the beginning! Today we shopped and prepared and tomorrow starts the 21 days!
I have made the decision not to weigh myself, not to take measurements or anything of that kind because my goal in this is not to lose weight! My goal is to pray and rely on the Holy Spirit for help! My goal is to get back into the habit of reading His Word daily! My goal is to put my flesh on the back burner and rely on my spirit man who has been weak and deprived for far to long!
I am so excited to start this new story and watch it unfold! I do love God more than food and my story changes now!

I plan to do my best to blog every day through this journey!
If you are in the place I am download the you version bible app and find the made to crave plan and start it! It might just change your life!
I'm blogging from my phone right now but tomorrow I will post the links!

Looking forward to this journey!

Life happens

I think I am officially off my hiatus! I really didnt mean to have one but as we all know life happens!  In November Benjamin turned 3, Cloee 2 and Jaxsen 1!  Then thanksgiving then a fun challenge when i had a panic half way through bc my brides maid dress was literally 4-5 inches away from closing and tried starving and hcg and other things for quick alternatives and ended up having to have my dress signigicantly altered, gaining more weight and being miserable!  Christmas with a million sets of families, stomach bugs, flus, headaches, er trips, urgent care trips and the list goes on!  Its been pure craziness!  I just wanted to take a few mins and share a few fun pics and a little of the craziness with you!
First off besides being totally mad at the fatness my body has stored on (that will be another post too) I am in the I totally hate my hair stage and why the heck did I ever cut it off!  I had a horrible experience with my last appointment (will share in another post) and just cant get to be ok with it!
Today I tried something new and I was asked 'Arent you going to fix your hair?' Haha!

This is Jax, he is now 14 months old and a total biggie piggie!  Here he is eating a waffle! Eesh! I dont want my kids to have these bad habits lol!

The kids all got new house shoes for christmas! Benjamin calls these his tiger feet and getting him to wear them is a serious fight! haha

Heres our chunky monkey sleeping like a man! haha! Hes too cute!

Benjamin has been a total ham lately!  love it! He sits like this then says.. Mommy do you know what im thinking?
Followed by something totally random like 'i think you have a chicken in your eye?' lol

My princess had the stomach bug for a whole day and this is her just snuggling me she is too sweet for words!

Just a little catch up.. cant wait to get back into a serious routine!  One where things make since, where my laundry is somewhat caught up and where I can have a little down time to sit and read all the blogs I love!!!  Talk to you soon! Thanks for stopping by and reading and Im looking forward to sharing so much more with you soon!

Fit Friday Link Up

I am so excited to to be teaming up with my friend Brittany from
The Domestic Geek
and starting a fun new link up called Fit Friday Link Up!

With the Holiday goodies behind us and fresh New Year’s resolutions we’re vowing to keep, we thought it would be a great time to launch a little extra motivation for getting fit.

The past 2 months have been awful for me health wise!!!  I started a 24 day challenge which I loved and want to redo bc I got sick then the kids were sick and with the holidays everything has been a bust! I have gained weight and eaten junk and feel like crap as a result of all the junk I've eaten!!! I'm so glad it's time for a new beginning!!! This next my goal is to have no sugar or soda! Next week I will get more into my long and short term goals nut to start off I am challenging myself to simply get up those 2 things that I know affect me the most.

We would love if you linked up so we could all support each other in a journey to get healthy, whether you need to lose weight, maintain weight, or just have a healthier lifestyle.

Here are the link up rules:

1. Follow BOTH The Domestic Geek and Monkeys and Tutus blogs.
2. Grab a button from my sidebar on the left, and/or link to one of the hosts within your post.
3. Link up, and tell us what you wish to accomplish and what goals you’ve reached.
4. Stop on over to other bloggers and give some kind words of encouragement! A little goes a long way!

Ive been missing you and an exciting announcement

Monkeys & Tutus is one of my passions! I love blogging, I love meeting new friends and getting to gather all my random thoughts and put them to some sort of use!
This past two months have been a blur! I went from blogging daily to once a week if I am lucky!  With starting to work part time outside of the home, my best friend’s wedding, thanksgiving, Christmas, new years, stomach bugs, the flu and everything in between, life took over and the blog had to go to the back burner.
I am so thankful for all my friends that have been messaging me, tweeting etc and checking on us!  I am hoping to get back into a sane routine and get to blogging again!  I am so missing reading all my fav blogs and I missing all my lovely friends, readers and supporters!  Thank you all for hanging with me through the craziness!

One of the biggest things I blog about is my journey to lose weight! This past year has been nuts and I am working on a big post for Friday!

I am so excited to tell you guys that starting this Friday I am teaming up with my friend Brittany from The Domestic Geek and starting a fun new link up called Fit Friday Link Up!

As for me this past year has been full of ups and downs and I am looking forward to a new beginnig and hoping to get some encouragement along the way! I wanted to share the idea with you gals a little early so you have time to prepare your posts and link up!
