No more fruit juice or milk for our kids!

This week I have been attending the Real Food Con online from Underground Wellness and I have learned so much! My hubs has been watching with me and he finally gets it and change is so happening in this house!  One thing I have really been struggling with is my kids eating habits!  I know every mommy deals with the dreaded food table drama and I swear I have the pickiest eaters ever!  One of the broadcasts I listened to was from The Wellness Mama and she talked about how one of the ways she saves money is by not buying drinks and using the saved money on healthier options!  Most people, me included always say we cant afford to eat healthy but there are ways to work it out and we are learning!
this is an unscripted pic of my kids chowing down on ice cream! eek!

In a general month we spend at least $100 on juice and milk!  I know juice isn't great and I have fallen into the habit of giving the kids way to much juice.  They were at the point of rarely drinking water alone.  It was always water mixed with some juice! eeks!  Any way I made the decision the other day no more juice and day 1 was awful!  They cried and whined and whimpered!  Day 2 was a little better but still some fuss and today, day 3, they were actually asking for ice water!  Wahoo! Success!!!

I got a big pitcher, filled it with water and added some fresh orange, lemon & lime slices and keep it in the fridge!  Today I have refilled it 3 times with the 5 of us drinking it constantly!  Its delicious and refreshing and thank God my kids like it!

We also gave up milk!  I noticed in our oldest that he was having severe diarrhea and after 2 weeks of testing it out it really seems to be limited to the milk!  He had it for days I took milk away and it stopped.  When it cleared up I gave him milk again and in a day he had it again.  So we are totally away from cows milk and onto coconut milk!  It actuallly has more calcium thank cows milk and the amount of hormones in regular milk is sick!

In another Real Food Con session I found Dr. Axe! Holy cow he has some good information!  He said that studies show that normal store bought milk contains 20 different chemicals and medications!  5 different types of steriods and growth hormones along with a lot of other sick stuff! Yuck!  No more for us!

Very exciting changes to a healthier lifestyle! Its not gonna happen over night but its a process and the outcome is going to be wonderful! The goal is to Just Eat Real Food!

Choosing my battles

Since we moved to the middle of  nowhere I am learning to pick my battles.  This new town mostly sucks.  The only parks are along a creek which is totally not toddler friendly!  If we want to go to a semi decent part we have to drive to the next town over which is about 20 mins!  We go to walmart just about every day because there is nothing else to do here.  We have a big wonderful backyard that is plagued with chiggers and anytime we attempt to go out there we all get eaten alive!  Jax is highly allergic to them and swells up huge with each bite.  So needless to say we dont play outside much.  We have sprayed and weve had it professionally sprayed but it doesnt help.

I used to be the mom that would not let my kids go out in public in anything but the cutest matching outfits. I would see people at the store or even at church in costumes or PJs and shake my head...  My kids all the sudden have gone from wanting to be mostly naked all day to wanting to wear PJs all the time!  Im learning to just let go and that it really isnt worth the melt down or the 2 hour fit over wanting to keep their jams on!  Afterall we are in the middle of no where and no one knows us anyway.. right?  hahaha!

This is my lil stinkers at a restaurant! Lol Woody PJs and Minnie Slippers!

At Walmart in Minnie Slippers and then in a Princess Dress with minnie slippers and of course the infamous Woody Pjs

Our Weekend in Photos

Oh I can never get enough pics of my silly sweet lil stinky monkeys! Today alone I took over 100!  But with 3 toddles I generally take a bunch of the same thing just hoping for 1 usable pic!

\

Princess Cloee cried and cried! She only wanted to wear a pretty princess dress to church!  Some days I wish we went to a church where people actually dressed up so she could dress up with out looking silly but oh well.. Shes the princess and shes beautiful!

While doing the dishes I heard Benjamin scream 'Mommy! Help! Im in Jail!!!' His little sister trapped him under a basket! hahah

Here they are supposed to be in time out! Benjamin was pouting and cloee was just cheezin so I started taking pics lol!

Hide n Seek Anyone? Can you find the half dressed lil monkeys?

Excited for Tomorrow!  Half way point in my 8 week challenge! Will post progress after our weigh in!

Grocery shopping with 3 under 3 eeeekkk

Tales from the Crypt Commissary

This morning all my kids woke up before the butt crack of dawn!  Luckily the princess started yelling for daddy bc he forgot to set his alarm!  I got up changed them all, fed them and headed off to the commissary (grocery store on base) The commissary is always full of chaos when you have 3 under 3.  Last time we went I buckled the big uns into the car at the front of the cart and gave them my phone and they were fine.  We today every stinking cart had broken buckles! EVERY ONE!  My guess is there are many more military wives with crazed kids like mine that have broken free!  Anyway I started early to avoid the crowds and the countless amount of elderly folk that have nothing better to do then stop, stare and say Oh My! You have your hands full!  Thankfully it was fairly dead in there this morn!  We didn’t get 20 feet in the door before princess started throwing a fit.  She wanted out, in, out, in then decided to lay on the floor…  The lady stocking the produce was shaking her rude lil head and I very sarcastically replied Well! If there was just 1 freaking cart in this store with a working seat belt this wouldn’t be an issue!  Grrr people do your job and mind your own stinking business!
Well it got more comical as we dredged through a few isles.  I decided to capture a few pics so you could see what I was talking about…

Yeah so after many unsuccessful attempts to keep them in the cart, several things knocked on the floor and stuff rearranged on shelves, them laying in the floor, climbing on the cart, me and the shelves. I was defeated and done! I could not bear to go one more isle!  We headed to the check out where grandpa bagger started in.  Your kids not have shoes today?  OMG Grandpa!  I should have said no were to poor for shoes or something off the wall like that! But I said well if you look in the cart you will see 3 lil pairs!
Luckily we made them out of there with 3 whole pairs since I had to stop to pick them up several times!
Grandpa continued to hurl randomly rude comments to the car where he loaded our groceries.  After I sat and had a few deep breaths for several minutes I decided danget I deserve starbucks for this!  Pumpkin Spice Frap is always the answer hahaha

Ok so 1st moms of multiples, especially young multiplies what is your advice for grocery shopping?  I used to love grocery shopping! Now I dread it!  And since I only got half done this morn I have to eventually go back!

On a funny note you HAVE to read thispost from Diapers or Wine!  This post totally cracked me up yesterday, as do most of her posts!  Sooo funny outtake of her trip to the store with 5 OMG!

From the mouth of babes

Kids seriously do say the darndest things!  As soon as my hubs gets off work I am going  to buy a journal for each of my kids so I can start writing down the funny things they say and do every day!

Thought I would share some of the funnies!

Today while driving accross town to go see daddy for lunch Benjamin, our oldest and almost 3 year old) pulled his sisters hair, so much so that he had quite a few strands in his hand!  I said Benjamin Keith! As soon as we get to daddys work you are gonna have to get a spanking because that was very bad etc...
Benjamin said: Im sorry fwodee (what he calls cloee) Its ok mommy i give her hair back now!

Benjamin has always been our little poop inspector but lately Cloee has joined in on it! Yesterday while changing Jax, Benjamin bent over looked at his dirty diaper and said EWWWW Its BROWN!  Then Cloee joins in.. Ewwww Brown!  lol Crazy kids!

We have been trying to break benjamin of saying 'butt' and instead say booty or dupa.  But now everything is all about dupas and bootys!
Me: Benjamin what are you doing?
Benjamin: (while playing with the toy kitchen) Mommy! Im cooking stinky bootys in here!

When benjamin said booty or dupa in a bad way if i respond by saying Benjamin?! He says Mommy I said dupa not butt!

He is all about saying Weenie! Why oh why did we teach him that word!
Now its constantly 'It smells like stinky weenies in here!'

Last week while he was bothering me while I was trying to potty he said
Mommy? Where is your weenie!  Ohemgee I just said mommys dont have weenies lol!  Wasnt expecting that question so early!

Then while daddy was walking through to get a towel (naked) Benjamin said Daddy! Cover up your weenie! Lol

I have told my hubs time and time again to be careful because benjamin repeats everything!  The other day while they were all strapped in their highchairs watching a show and eating a snack daddy said psst lets go get a quickie and benjamin said Mommy! I want a quickie! OMG  I tried to pass it off as a cookie! Hahah! Hey dont judge! When you got 3 under 3 you gotta do what you gotta do! hahaha

Cloee (almost 2)is all the sudden bursting with sentences!  Every time we go somewhere she screams There it is!!!! I Find it!!!!
Of course my favorite is when she says I love you mommy! Its oh so sweet when she says love you daddy, love you benji and love you jax jax too!  She is too much!

This age is so much fun! I bet next year with a 2, 3 and 4 year old will be beyond comical! ha  Hope you enjoyed a lil look into our silliness!
Happy Saturday!
